Galpin Autosports celebrated 50 years of Carroll Shelby by hosting a special car show featuring all year Shelby cars. Shelby vehicle owners and enthusiasts from around Southern California met up for this special event.

Despite the fact the host club for this show is the SVT Cobra Mustang Club, this was an all-Ford show. Being this was my fourth year participating in this show, I knew what to expect. A show filled with some very nice Fords, which would primarily be Mustangs.
The 2013 Ford Focus ST Performance Academy is being held at special locations around the country, and we had the opportunity to hit up the LA event at Dodger Stadium. This was a one-of-a-kind experience to push the driving limits of the all new 2013 Ford Focus ST before the car hits the dealerships later in the year.
The Speedway Fun Runs are always a fan favorite, regardless of whether you are participating or simply a spectator. At a couple locations around the speedway, track staff places a few tires for the cars to navigate through, to keep speeds from getting too excessive and unsafe.
How do you cap off a perfect day of Mustang fun? With a burnout contest of course! The annual Mustang Week Burnout Contest started shortly after 5:00pm on Wednesday, and true to form it didn’t disappoint.
This was the day I had started preparing for weeks ago, as I had slowly been cleaning my Mustang GT to get ready for this one show. Even as I left home the Saturday before, I watched the radar trying to dodge any storms as I headed to the beach.
After Vaughn Gittin Jr. finished slaying a set of tires on the speedway, the autocross runs started back up. It’s great fun to watch the participants race through the cones to see who can get the fastest time.
During the Mustang Week Meet and Greet, Mike Clay introduced Vaughn Gittin Jr. to the crowd. At that point, Gittin took over and discussed all the personal touches he overlooked in the new RTR Mustangs, then revealed a “Deep Impact Blue” RTR Coupe and a “Gotta Have It Green” RTR Convertible.
With Monday evening’s Pre-Meet over, Tuesday began a new day at Mustang Week. The skies threatened an early morning storm, but soon cleared up as the starting hour for the Meet and Greet approached.
