(Van Nuys, CA) – Galpin Autosports hosted a VIP party to celebrate 50 years of Carroll Shelby, a tribute to the past, present, and future. CoolFords had the inside tip on this exclusive party, compliments of Galpin’s social media guru, thanks Laurel. The party was held at the Premier Collection at GAS and featured Shelby’s throughout the years including the one-of-a-kind Shelby Cobra CSX2000.
The Shelby American legend began with the CSX2000. The first Shelby Cobra, it was personally owned by Carroll Shelby from its birth until he passed away in 2012. This Cobra is in “survivor” condition with the original engine, brakes, interior and body as debuted at the 1962 New York Auto Show.
There was a special announcement in store for guests of the party, as Beau Boeckmann and John Luft dropped the bomb and announced the creation of a Galpin Shelby Mod Shop, where vehicles can be serviced and get on the Shelby registry.
Cleo Shelby was in attendance, and there was also a silent auction benefitting the Carroll Shelby Foundation. Drinks were flowing, DJ Poet from the Black Eyed Peas was spinning the beats for the night and there was a nice tribute video to Carroll from friends and people who knew him best. Overall a great event with a great cause.
