Ford returns to Chicago to celebrate its past and look to the future with the 2013 Shelby GT500 convertible.
Friends of Carroll Shelby, including Ford Motor Company, Shelby American, Ford Racing and many others have built a special tribute 2013 Shelby GT500 Cobra. Ford is also announcing a renamed road in Dearborn, Mich., at the Product Development Center as a tribute to the late Carroll Shelby.
The Ford Shelby GT500 kicks performance up a few notches for 2011, with an all-new aluminum-block engine that produces 550 horsepower and 510 ft.-lb. of torque. Fuel economy also is improved due to a lighter engine and aerodynamic enhancements.

They arrived late last night from Shelby Auto’s in Las Vegas where they picked up there car which happens to be the very first car sold to the public, #4. #1 was a Prototype sold at Barrett Jackson, #2 is owned by Carroll Shelby, #3 is owned by Don Prudhomme and #4 is now in possession of Jim and Stacy from Idaho.
