The Los Angeles Auto Show held 50 vehicle debuts since it opened Nov. 16 & 17 for press and Nov. 18-27 for the public. As a bright spot in the overall economy, the auto industry continues its momentum at the L.A. Show, highlighted by more than 22 manufacturer press conferences.
The 2011 SEMA show ended in early November and sixteen days later another huge automotive event would take place. It’s the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show gaining the spot light by showcasing technology and the latest car & truck models.
Friends of Carroll Shelby, including Ford Motor Company, Shelby American, Ford Racing and many others have built a special tribute 2013 Shelby GT500 Cobra. Ford is also announcing a renamed road in Dearborn, Mich., at the Product Development Center as a tribute to the late Carroll Shelby.
The season concludes where it began with an event traditionally laced with drama. The historic racetrack typically enjoys seasonably cool temperatures that translate into perfect racing conditions and a spectacular, no-holds-barred battle for the prestigious NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series world championships.
The OCMC 20th Annual Mustang Madness Halloween Car Show was held today at Theodore Robins Ford in Costa Mesa. This Mustang show was open to all models and years of Fords only. There was entertainment, food, raffles, vendors and trophies for 41 Driver’s Choice classes plus Best of Show.
Mike Miller co-owner of Pal Joeys Cocktail Lounge on Waring Road together with Child Safety Network held their Annual Car Show to benefit the Child Safety Network’s 22nd anniversary. Mike Miller together with Ward Lever are co-founders of the Network. The Child Safety Network prevents child abduction and child injury.
I witnessed something really cool at the Falken Tires paddock on the first day at the 2011 Formula D Rounds 7. Gittin blew his motor on, yet still went back out and qualified on 6 cylinders. Vaughn Gittin Jr’s team had already removed valve covers and everything on top of the motor to examine it. His crew wouldn’t say what the problem was but that they had to pull the motor.
The Formula D Finals took place on Oct. 7-8 at a venue better known as “The House of Drift” at Toyota Speedway of Irwindale. This track has had a long-standing relationship with the event since 2005 where this year 32 drivers from across the globe would compete to be crowned as World Champion. These 32 drivers would involve huge names in the drifting world like Vaughn Gitten Jr. and JTP representing Falken and our beloved Ford Racing.
Combine one awesome location and about 400+ Ford Mustangs and what do you get? It could only be the Mustangs By The Bay car show in the marina park in downtown San Diego. Ford Enthusiasts from as far away as Arizona and Mexico came together to show off their Cool rides on a perfect Southern California day.
