2011 SCPOC Twist-O-Rama

Los Angeles, CA (Aug. 20, 2011) – I look forward to this cruise every year. It’s the end of summer cruise with the So Cal Probe Owner’s club and generally takes about a whole a day from leaving the house until getting home. I live in L.A. and the primary meeting location for those who live north of San Diego is in Orange County where we would round up to join others in San Diego.

Once we have gathered everyone at the Orange County meeting spot, we would leave together for San Diego. This year, my buddy and I decided to go directly from L.A. to San Diego just to surprise all of our L.A. and O.C. friends. We met the rest of the participants at the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.

We were embarking on a mountain carving journey with Probes, SHOs and Escort ZX2s covering several hundred miles of twist and turns in San Diego County. It’s really fun to go up and around Palomar Mountain and passing through some small communities and boomtowns. Julian is one of those gold rush towns famous for it’s apple pies and apple ciders. It’s also a good tourist destination to stop and grab some food and explore.

Twist-o-Rama is an endurance cruise which lasted about 4.5 hours this year. We ended having a good dinner at Outback Steakhouse.
