2011 South Bay Showdown

Not very many automotive clubs can say their car show season goes until mid December. Many folks on the east coast have prepped their vehicles for the winter hibernation months ago. Well here in Southern California, Ford and Mustang car shows go all year round. Today the Beach Cities Mustang Club held their annual South Bay Showdown hosted at the South Bay Ford dealership.

This crummy economic situation has affected a lot of good people in the last few years. James and Yvonne Casity is one family that has experienced their fair share of tough times, having closed a family Plumbing business of 7 years and now currently seeking employment. It was day one of the 2011 SEMA Show in Vegas that while on my way to the Ford Motor Company exhibit that something very cool caught my attention and drew me in. I saw the blue glowing lights in the distance from the Ford booth but it was the Saleen Speedlab booth that this monster was at. Before me was a 2011 Mustang GT that had gone thru an extensive transformation into an S302R American Iron Series race car. I needed to know more, and thats when I met Kevin from Performance Autosport, Inc. who’s Richmond, VA.

2012 ROUSH Stage 3 Premier Edition

Automotive performance and racing legend Jack Roush today unveiled the 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 Premier Edition Ford Mustang at the Sherwin-Williams Automotive booth at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) annual meeting in Las Vegas.

Roush was joined by NASCAR Sprint Cup series and Roush Fenway Racing team driver David Ragan as together they uncovered the dazzling orange ‘Mat It Mango’ 2012 Mustang, which also featured highlighted, painted graphics in its exclusive ‘Sin City Silver’ and ‘Performance Pearl’ colors.

“Project Last Ride” a tribute to Joe Gosinski

A 2011 Mustang 5.0 was chosen as the Mustang of choice for a tribute car that’s being built in memory of Joe Gosinski of Chicane Sport Tuning. Joe was found murdered on December 23, 2010 in his shop and, in his memory, Sal Valdez a former customer and Matt Bernal a former employee joined together to create this custom Mustang to bring exposure to the tragedy, possibly find the killer, and keep Joe’s memory alive.

What a weekend for the Bluefire Racing Team, Catastrophe, Philanthropy and a Tribute! On a weekend that saw exciting racing and a few tugs at the heartstrings, Bluefire Racing concluded its bid for a Regional Championship last weekend (October 22, 23) in the 2011 National Auto Sports Association (NASA) American Iron series.
