As we see out 2012 I thought I would put together an album of Fords that I’ve spotted this year. Also, looking forward into 2013, as a coolfords.com photographer and contributor I should be able to share some great events and content with you.
The Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival has been going on for nearly 19 years now. It’s held just outside Auckland, at a place called Kumeu (pron ‘Kew-mew’), and is definitely on the ‘Westie’ (or ‘red-neck’) end of hot rod automobile shows.
I decided to pop along to one of the monthly Mid West Street Rodders club meetups. Again this was a local event I had never been to before, but it’s staggering to see how much actually goes on around Auckland when you care to look.
The New Zealand Festival of Motorsport is a relatively fledgling event on the calendar. The new circuit at Hampton Downs is still very much in its formative stages too.
The Intermarque Concours d’Elegance – New Zealand’s biggest classic car show has been running for 40 years. Not that I’ve been going that long though, in the few years that I’ve been in attendance I’ve always been amazed by the rare variety and exotic machinery that turns up.
