Mid West Street Rodders Breakfast Run

(Auckland, New Zealand) – I decided to pop along to one of the monthly Mid West Street Rodders club meetups. Again this was a local event I had never been to before, but it’s staggering to see how much actually goes on around Auckland when you care to look.

There I was, expecting the ‘usual suspects’ to turn up – taking more photos of cars I had seen before – yawn. It couldn’t have been further from the truth. I had only clapped my lens on about 10% of the hot rods that turned out for the coffee and breakfast run.

I checked just now, there were Fords representing every decade from 1920s to 1970s. I didn’t spot that when I was shooting. GM and Mopar were, of course, also covered well. A couple of treats took shape in the form of a 1969 Mercury Cyclone Coupe and a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona packing a 440 Magnum 7.2L engine!
