(Portland, OR) – ChumpCar race at Portland International Raceway on March 31st and April 1st, 2012. The GI SHO team pulled out an excellent performance at PRI on March 31st and April 1st. The race on the 31st was a ten hour endurance run.
Unfortunately, due to clutch failure late in the day the team had to pull out of the running resulting in their first ever Did Not Finish. After the race the team took the car back to their shop and replaced the clutch overnight. On the 1st, during changing weather conditions, the team got back on the track for the second day six hour run.
After starting in the 28th position the drivers raced hard and brought it in with an impressive fourth place finish. Behind the wheel at this race where: Daryl Dyer, Kurt Gutzka, Duane Barker and first time GI SHO driver Kelly Silverthorn.
