So, here’s a drag race: where the 500-horsepower Shelby GT500 could out-drag the then-fastest Camaro at the time, with 426 horsepower. This was before any inkling of the horsepower wars to come.
Hence, “crushing it,” bro. But give it three years and it’s all factory-tuned specials like the ZL1 and Boss 302 grabbing the headlines. The rest, of course, is history.
